Hola mi nombre es Alisha Marie Santiago y naci el 31 de agosto del 2004 a las 11:59 am en el hospital Dr. Pila de Ponce. En mi pagina podras saber todo sobre mi y mi familia. Mis padres son Arnold Santiago Cartagena y Jessica Cheryl Jimenez, papi nacio en Carolina y mami en Ponce como yo. Actualmente vivimos en Carolina debido a mi condicion medica que fue diagnosticada a mis nueve meses de nacida. Esta condicion medica se llama Aciduria Glutarica Tipo 1 ( Glutaric Aciduria Type 1 ) en ingles. Mi condicion requiere que yo haga terapia ocupacional, del habla y fisica para poder mejorar mis habilidades motoricas. Sobre Aciduria Glutarica Tipo 1 te puedo decir que la condicion no tiene cura pero como yo tengo un Dios bien pero que bien grandote yo se que voy a dar un gran testimonio cuando yo sea grande para asi poder ayudar a muchas personas que padecen de esta dificil condicion. La condicion que padesco es tan dificil que solo hay 57 casos registrados en el mundo entero y yo soy el segundo que se escucha en Puerto Rico. Mis padres y mis abuelos estan trabajando juntos en el comite pro fondos Alisha Marie Santiago que consiste en realizar actividades tales como eventos de softball, golf, entre otros para recaudar fondos para mis tratamientos . Gracias a los torneos de softball y el torneo de golf del pasado ano pudimos recaudar lo suficiente para poder hacer el viaje a la clinica para niños especiales (The Clinic for Special Children) en Strasburg PA para ver al Dr. Holmes Morton y para seguir con todas mis terapias, medicamentos y alimentacion. Este ano mi familia volvera a celebrar algunos torneos de softball y el torneo de golf para seguir recaudando fondos para todos mis tratamientos. Y les pido que siempre me tengan en sus oraciones.

Hello my name is Alisha Marie Santiago and I was born August 31, 2004 at 11:59 am in the hospital Dr. Pila of Ponce. In this webpage you would get to know everything about me and my family. My parents are Arnold Santiago Cartagena and Jessica Cheryl Jimenez, daddy was born in Carolina and mommy in Ponce like me. As of right now we live in Carolina due to my condicion that was diagnosed when I was nine months old and the hospital that I visit for my treatments is in San Juan. This condicion is called Glutaric Aciduria Type 1. My condicion requires that I do physical therapy, speech therapy and OT to be able to improve. On Aciduria Glutarica Type 1 I can tell you that the condicion does not have a cure but because that great God of us I know I would be an example for a lot of kid's with this condition. The condition is not that well known that the doctors that work with it estimates that less than a 100 cases are register around the world and I am the second one in Puerto Rico in the last 35 years. My parents and my grandparents are working together in the Comite Pro-Fondos Alisha Marie Santiago that consists of carrying out activities such as events of softball, golf, among others to collect funds for my treatments. Thanks to the tournament of softball and golf of the past years we were able to collect the money that was needed to make the trip to the Clinic for Special Children in Strasburg PA to see Dr. Holmes Morton and for continue with all my therapies, medicines and nutrition. This year my family would be celebrating another softball and golf tournament so I could keep up with my treatments and hopefully be able to help others And I ask everyone to always keep me in their prayers.
